Have you seen the Ukiyo-e print (The Floating World and Beyond) exhibition at The Joslyn? They have spectacular pieces on display by a handful of famous Japanese printmakers. The unique style of ukiyo-e printmaking had a big influence on the Impressionists known as Japonism from the years 1854 to 1920s. The modern version of ukiyo-e is now known as moku hanga and I felt inspired to revisit this process after viewing the prints at The Joslyn. Please join Amy in a Japanese style printmaking workshop to explore the eastern version of color woodcut printing.

Open Studio at Hot Shops Art Center
After several years at the Midco Building we decided to move back ‘home’ to the Hot Shops Art Center. As great as the big bright space was over at Midco, we missed being around an art community. Hot Shops has evolved into a nonprofit center that fosters education, collaboration, and community outreach. Frequently offering classes, tours, and community events, the energy at Hot Shops has inspired us and we’re so excited to be back in the building. Come visit us during the upcoming open studios or feel free to schedule an appointment with Judy or Amy.
Open House is
Saturday, December 2, 11:00 – 7:00
and
Sunday, December 3, 11:00 – 5:00pm.
You can find us on the second floor, studio 209.

Opening Reception
Amy will have a handful of her newer collage type works at an upcoming exhibit at Anderson O’Brien. The Small Works show will include artists currently represented by AoB gallery, with the criteria that all pieces need to be 12 inches or smaller.
Opening reception is also December 1st 5:00 – 8:00
